10 THINGS TO DO TONIGHT INSTEAD OF WATCHING TV

10 THINGS TO DO TONIGHT INSTEAD OF WATCHING TV

10 THINGS TO DO TONIGHT INSTEAD OF WATCHING TV

    Do a Face Mask

    Face Mask

This is an obvious one, but it really does do the trick. Put your phone on silent, throw on your comfiest pj’s, pour yourself a cup of tea and kick back and relax. The result? Beautiful glowing skin and a clear(er) mind.
We can’t get enough of the Go-To Transformazing Sheet Mask – it’s truly what sheet mask dreams are made of. If you prefer something that you can smear on, you can’t go past the Alya Skin Pink Clay Mask.
    Colour In

    Coloured Pencils
Colouring-in is so therapeutic. So, why not use your time at home to release that inner child, get creative and let loose with some pencils. We are obsessed with The Lust List Colouring Book, it’s a fashion obsessives dream. For something more low-key, try your nearest newsagency, with most stocking a variety of fun and
          mindful options.
    Listen to a Podcast

If you haven’t jumped on the podcast bandwagon, now is the time. Whether you feel like laughing, indulging in a little self-help or attempting to solve the latest crime story, there’s a podcast (or 10) out there for you. At the moment, we are loving Shameless, KIC POD, No Filter with Mia Freedman, You Beauty, Offline with Alison
Rice, Love etc, Seize the Yay and The New Daily. They are the perfect escape from this crazy world we are currently living in!

    Re-Organise The Pantry

Who doesn’t love an organised pantry! Now that we are all stocked up on the essentials, it is the perfect time to arrange those goods to avoid anything getting lost or going to waste. These storage containers from Kmart are great to divide everything up – eg. spices in one, rice and pasta in another etc. They come in a variety of sizes and colours to suit your style.
Do you remember the labels we mentioned a few weeks ago on our Insta Stories? Well, they are also perfect when it comes to organisation. So, if you want to be that little bit extra and up your pantry-game, why not grab a stash of custom labels! We love Little Label Co and Pretty Little Designs. Bombardier Designs also do some great fridge options, if you really want to take your organisation to the next level.
    Read a Good Book

When the world seems a little confusing, there really is nothing better than curling up on the couch with a good book – and a glass of red (in your LUXEY, of course!). At the moment, we are loving Grown-Ups by Marian Keyes, Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid, Older But Better, But Older by Caroline de Maigret and Sophie Mas, Not So Mumsy by Marcia Leone, LOVE! By Zoë Foster-Blake, Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman, Open Book by Jessica Simpson and Marriage Vacation by Pauline Brooks - if you’re a Younger fan, you’ll get this last one!
    Call Your Friends and Family

Whilst we may not be able to see our friends or family, there’s nothing stopping us from calling or video chatting with them. Surprise your parents or grandparents with a phone call, just to check-in and see how they’re going. If you’ve got kids, let me they call and speak to Nan and Pop – it will make their night – yours too, probably. Or why not set aside some time, make a cheese platter, grab your favourite beverage and have a good old girly catch-up via Skype, FaceTime or Google Hangouts. It’s wine night in the modern age and we kind of dig it!

    Do a Puzzle

Now, just to clarify, this will be an ongoing project, unless you’re ultra-competitive and won’t sleep until it’s complete. But seriously, a jigsaw puzzle is a great way to pass the time and switch your brain off from the digital space. Whether you’re doing it alone or with the fam, it’s a sure-fire way to ride out this isolation stint and feel a sense of accomplishment along the way. Kmart, Big W, Target or your nearest games store will have a fantastic variety!
    Start a Journal

No matter if it’s for your mental health, for fun or even just to get your thoughts down on paper, writing a journal can be very therapeutic and a great way to see you through these unusual times. We often think we’ll remember certain things that happen, but as time passes, the memories fade, so a journal is a great way to remember the good times and heal from the bad. Hey, you never know, you may read these stories to your children one day, when they will be in awe that you lived through a time that is sure to go down in history.
    Listen to music
Music transcends and will get you through anything. Pop on a song that gives you all the feels, one that takes you back to a special moment in time or a banger that just makes you want to dance like crazy around your living room. Lose yourself in the sound and let the beat be your escape. If you really want to live in 2020, why not learn one of the famous TikTok dances – just a heads up, you may need a teenager to help you decipher this new phenomenon, but trust us, it’s loads of fun!
    Learn Something New

Now, we all love a good blob sesh on the couch. But, if you are feeling bored and need something to occupy your time and mind, there’s never been a better time to learn something new.
Yale’s crazy-popular “happiness” course is being offered for free via Coursera. The course focuses on mental health and wellbeing – something that we all need to be mindful of at the moment. If anything, just to say that you’ve completed a Yale course sounds pretty good to us!
Three Birds Renovations are offering free instant access to Module One of their online Reno School. This module is one of the most important in the course, and is guaranteed to keep you busy for days – perhaps even weeks! If you love it, you can sign up for the remaining modules.
Google has recently launched a new service that allows you to explore the world’s most famous museums all from the comfort of your couch and pjs – what perfect timing. From the Getty Museum in LA to the Musée d‘Orsay in Paris, Tate Britain in London, and The Met and the Guggenheim in New York, the world’s best are right in the palm of your hands.
Duolingo have a great app if you would like to learn another language, whilst TED Talks have hundreds of thousands of videos on all kinds of topics – be warned, you may lose a few hours here!
